WWI Trench Art Lighter Britannia 1917 Vimy Roeux Bullecourt Lion.
This is a very nice example of a WW1 Trench Art Lighter. It is a hexagonal shape with brass plaque showing a lion on one side and marked “BRITANNIA 1917 VIMY ROEUX BULLECOURT”. On the other side is a scene of General Joffre kissing a French soldier and is marked “HONNEUR AUX BRAVES”. It looks like Bronze and is signed S. Grun.
It measures approx 2 1/4” tall. There is a tarnish spot above the lions tail. All other condition can be seen in the photos. We have not tested this lighter to see if it works.
