cramped dusty office in Manhattan, New York City. This photograph is detailed in the Feb. 16, 1948 issue of LIFE Magazine on page 113.
Details:
This press print was made under permission of the photographer's estate to promote a LIFE Magazine photo exhibition that toured Japan in 1990 (see poster above). It is over 30 years old and was intended for circulation to media organizations who requested it for publishing in newspaper and magazine articles or television broadcast. It was not made from the original negative, but instead from a master negative made specially for making multiple prints that consistently looked the same.
