VINTAGE NEWSPAPER CLIPPINGS SCRAPBOOK FOR EL MOROCCO, NYC NIGHT CLUB’S HISTORY - DATED YEARS 1958-2000
This SCRAPBOOK of vintage NEWSPAPER CLIPPINGS FOR EL MOROCCO, NYC NIGHT CLUB’S HISTORY gives a brief history and shows the essence of this iconic 1950’s nightclub. The El Morocco club was on E. 54th St. near Third Ave., NYC. It was the undisputed queen of supper clubs and represented all that could be meant by the word "glamour" in New York nightlife. It draw it’s patronage from London, Paris, Madrid and Rome, as well as from the capitals of South America. It’s name was as well known in Hong Kong as it was in Moscow. Most of the articles are dated from 1958 to the year 2000, when the Club’s building and area was going to be developed for condominiums. There are a total of 10 pages of various article clippings.
PLEASE NOTE:  There are also iconic original photographs of the interior of the EL MOROCCO NIGHT CLUB itself, from the vintage Golden Age original photographs. EL Morocco's familiar Schiaparelli glass palm trees, blinking oriental stars against a midnight blue ceiling, and the zebra-striped banquettes, which were the club's renowned trade mark. And, there is also a original booklet of handwritten early 1950’s original recipes, that are signed and dated by Joe Perona, the Head Chef of the EL MOROCCO NIGHT CLUB, and co-owner with brother, John Perona. Condition:  In Overall Good Condition, with yellowed newspaper clippings that have toned with age, as is to be expected on older pulp-based paper. In addition, one article has a loss of a small area of copy. The scrapbook itself is in Mint Condition. Please see photographs.
