  • Condition: This box is in poor condition as it has damage and signs of use throughout the piece. The lid has been broken and was glued back together multiple times, and some portions are missing. The glue is yellow and is visible in various areas. There are chips that can be found throughout, some are quite large. One of the rims on the reticulated detailing is separated. There is heavy crazing on the piece. The M&R sticker is folded over and breaking off. Please view photos, as all sides of the box are shown, but we ran out of photos to show close ups of all of the damage.     This stunning hand painted figural box from M&R, was made in Italy and features reticulated designs, a footed base, and beautiful detailing in capturing the essence of Beauty and the Beast. From the angels, to the roses, along with the choice in color scheme, this porcelain jewelry casket box is a very elegant representation of this beloved tale. We believe this piece is Capodimonte, based on the similarity in design and artwork on the piece, but are not positive as we have not taken it for examination or appraisal. This piece is numbered on the bottom 339/304, and it is truly a rare find.
