    Description

Extremely rare type 1 original 1966 New York City 23rd Street Fire photo of the recovery of one of the 12 firemen that died in the worst fire loss of life by the departments until Sept. 11th disaster occurred.  This photo was taken at the moment when one of the fallen brothers was found, each man took off their helmets and bowed their heads in prayer as the Chaplin is seen performing last rights before the body was placed on a stretcher and removed from the basement where the firemen were plunged when the first floor collapsed.  This photo really hits to the heart.  Measures 11 by 14 inches and is excellent original condition other than the corner fold that is shown.  Original type 1 photo Guaranteed.
